Germany

Germany has one of Europe's most extensive 4G networks. Telekom Deutschland provides the strongest coverage, particularly in rural areas. 5G is available in major cities and expanding. Historical rail coverage gaps have improved significantly since 2022. Berlin is a major hub for digital nomads and tech professionals.

🇳🇱

Netherlands

The Netherlands consistently ranks as having the highest mobile network quality in the EU. KPN, T-Mobile NL, and Vodafone NL all provide near-complete 4G coverage with 5G available nationwide. Amsterdam is a global tech hub with excellent infrastructure for remote workers.

🇵🇹

Portugal

Portugal has strong coverage in Lisbon, Porto, and the Algarve coast. MEO and NOS provide the best coverage. Lisbon has become Europe's premier digital nomad destination, with an exceptional co-working ecosystem and affordable cost of living compared to Western Europe.

🇫🇷

France

France has the best rural 4G coverage in the EU, driven by government-mandated coverage requirements. Orange France is the dominant operator with the widest coverage. Paris has excellent 5G coverage. Mountain areas (Alps, Pyrenees) can have limited coverage.

Note on non-EU countries: Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and the United Kingdom are not EU members. Not all "European" eSIM plans cover these countries. Verify your plan's coverage list before traveling to these destinations.
